Like many holiday destinations, Dalbeg has a season. The hardy travellers arrive at the end of March, and the stragglers leave towards the end of October. For that period in late autumn, through winter, and into the first signs of spring, our little glen sees few visitors. However, for those who brave these cooler months, there is often a wondrous spectacle in store, as huge Atlantic rollers collide with Stac na Gall and the surrounding skerries, throwing spume into the sky. Sometimes, these waves are as tall as a house, really. The noise is truly deafening. You can taste the salt in the air, and savour the smell of the sea. A just reward for the courageous few.
