Some of the houses on Main Street have been renovated and made weathertight for the work parties that visit St Kilda each season to make repairs and do whatever else is needed to protect this World Heritage site for future generations. Each year, the St Kilda Club holds a reunion bringing together people who are interested in the history, conservation, and culture of the islands. A strong contingent of enthusiasts from previous work parties converges on the meeting rooms at Edinburgh Zoo, where it truly is a reunion.
