Most days, during the holiday season, cars begin to arrive mid-morning, and the day is filled with the wonderful sights and sounds of people having a great time. Then teatime comes and the beach begins to empty, all except for the cognoscente, who stay on to see the sun dip below the horizon. This may be a largely soundless affair, but the sight makes the heart miss a beat or two, as spectators are graced with a kaleidoscope of colours and shapes that morph with each passing second. The only thing missing is the applause at the end of the performance!
