Description

This is the end of the road at Huisinis, on North Harris. It is, however, only the end of the highway. In times past, the track went up over the hill behind Huisinis to the little township of Clabhadail. This is a stunning walk. Even if you’re not very fit, it’s worth going a short distance up the hill to soak in the views across a slip of ultramarine to the island of Scarp, made famous by Gerard Zucher, the German scientist who pioneered the rocket post just before the Second World War.
