We can only imagine what lurks in the deeps offshore. As you read these words, I suspect you are already conjuring up images from television wildlife programmes. Yet, sometimes, the deep is so dark that seeing with our imagination is the only way to populate the inky murk, and then there are no limits to what we might ‘see.’
