Description

Ask any young person and they will tell you there are only six colours plus black and white, and perhaps grey. Ask an artist, or anyone for that matter who loves the outdoors, and they will tell you an entirely different story. Add hues (the dominant primary or secondary colour in a colour), tints (pure colours with some white added), tones (pure colours with some grey added), and shades (pure colours with some black added), and the number of colours is almost infinite. Look west from our balcony and you have a case in point. I defy anyone to count the number of colours on show, even on the bright, sunny days that rinse the subtler tints, tones, and shades from the palette. Good luck trying!
