There was a time when drone technology was something we saw in James Bond films and at air shows. In 2010, the Parrot AR.Drone appeared, priced at £300 (equivalent to £500 in 2026 terms). Now, budget offerings cost as little as £120, and premium models go for less than twice that amount. They provide a whole different view of the world, one that was previously only available to birds and those brave folk who skydive and paraglide. Colours are more saturated and vibrant – I’m not sure why – almost as if the view was on steroids!
