Walk north west from the end of the beach at Luskentyre and you will come across an intriguing rocky shoreline where huge boulders have been tumbled smooth by ancient glaciers and deposited higglety pigglety, as if a giant child has had a tantrum and scattered his toys. Look closer and you will notice that the boulders are carpeted with barnacles and limpets, large and small, all finding uncertain purchase against the crashing waves of the rising tide.
