Natural stone arches are truly magical places. It is mind-boggling to think that the spectacular and constant force of the waves racing in from the North Atlantic has, over the millennia, literally punched a hole in the cliff bulwarks that line the west coast of the Isle of Lewis. This stone arch can be reached, with care, at low tide from the northern end of the small beach at Dalbeg. Keep an eye on the rising tide, however – this is not a place to be stranded!
