Description

This was an experiment on corrugated board, to see how the medium would react to the uneven surface, and to see if there was a way of simulating a Harris tweed effect. Les was a little uncertain about the result but we went ahead with a giclée print regardless, and the first one sold within a day of going into the gallery. Like so many things in the world of art, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. An artist can be very pleased with a painting, yet it languishes on the gallery wall, unloved and unwanted. Yet, another piece, that seems to have less about it, is appreciated and sells in no time. For this reason, and because The Beach House Gallery is our own project, we can quickly try different things out. It’s fine if they work, and it’s equally fine if they don’t. A fortunate place to be.
