Description

The little burn that exits Loch Daile Beag is, for most of its time, just that – a little burn, flowing gently towards the stones at the top of the beach. It trickles quietly down towards the beach, and then chooses the line of least resistance to the sea. On occasion, it meanders across the beach, creating a warm lagoon which acts like a magnet for youngsters in the summer. However, when there has been prolonged rainfall (a not-infrequent feature of the west coast), the burn takes on an altogether different character, as it rushes headlong, and very noisily, in a direct line to the sea.
