Description

Rockpools are a magnet for little people. Who knows what treasures lie within? As a child, I could spend hours peering into this one rock pool, a microcosm of the wider sea a few metres away. In fact, it was probably the only time when my parents could be absolutely sure they knew where I was. It was teeming with life, but there was one creature that I was especially interested in: a common blenny. I waited, as still as a statue, for it to peak out from behind the sheltering seaweed. Ever so slowly, I cupped my hands under the water and moved stealthily towards it. I never did catch it, which was probably just as well.
