Description

So many of the old black houses have, over the years, fallen into disuse and crumbled into a pile of stones. Others, however, have been saved from this ignominy and have been what is now called repurposed – given a new lease of life to serve its owners in a different way. This is one such black house and, as it has been for so many of my drawings, it is one that I passed numerous times thinking, “I must stop and do a sketch of that beautiful building”. And yet it was many years before I did indeed stop and do that sketch.
