Description

The challenge about a trip to the Shiants, to the east of the Isle of Lewis, is which way to look – there is just so much to see. Our dear friends, Rosie and Mark, took us from the marina at Goat Island on a sunny Sunday in early June. There was a brisk northerly blowing – so the skies were clear and very blue. We happened across a pod of perhaps 200 dolphins on the way across. And then we were greeted by more puffins, razorbills, guillemots, gulls, and terns than it was possible to count. Numerous white-tailed sea eagle sightings made the day even more special. And then, there were these fabulous rock formations…
