Description

Many years ago, on a trip to the Isle of Mull to celebrate Lesley’s 40th birthday, we set out one day to visit Iona. It was an eventful day. We came across some American tourists and their broken-down car, and took them back to their holiday cottage… and stayed for tea and a scone. We rescued two young girls, and a baby in a pushchair, from the rapidly rising tide on an open expanse of sand. And we visited Port Uisken, where I remembered just how captivating the view at our feet can be. It’s so easy to admire the big vista, yet miss what is literally under our noses. This small view is St Kilda, but it could be anywhere. With all the adventures, we never quite made it to Iona!
