Rural post offices will sadly soon be a thing of the past – something that parents will point out to their children and say, “That’s what post offices used to be like.” Such a shame because these buildings were so much more than just a place to buy stamps and post parcels. They were the hub of the community – places where information was currency and acquaintances renewed. I hope the red telephone box and the blue sign remain as a reminder of different times.
