Nothing is ever still on the islands. When the wind is in its full element, it can be so strong that you imagine you can feel the house move around you at night. And even on the stiller days, the island is in perpetual motion. This is never more obvious than if you sit quietly and watch the water on a calm day. As the tide moves in and out, the flat surface of the sea belies the fierce contest that is being fought below by the opposing currents.
