Description

Sometimes, you look at something in the natural world and realise that it is perfectly formed for its environment. The gannet is such an entity. The sweep of its wings, its graceful and economic flight, those sharp eyes that capture everything in their gaze. This observation is never more accurate than when you catch sight of the gannets diving for fish in the bay. They circle patiently, locate their prey, and then drop out of the sky at an incredible speed, wings almost folded almost to their bodies. They surface moments later and, with perhaps a couple of effortless beats of their wings, they are airborne again, in search of the next course of their meal.
